Matt Donnally is the athletic trainer for the New York Hawks. He handles the physical needs of each of the players. He has had a crush on Dr. Dani Santino since they first met in a bar, and has waited for her.

He was previously in a relationship with Laura Radcliffe, but they broke up because she moved to San Francisco without telling Matt. When she came back to New York, they got back together. She then left once again, but offered Matt a desk job so that he could go with her. He declined the job at first, but is having second thoughts. Despite this, he does not want another relationship with Laura. He is currently in a relationship with Dani.
